Hey folks, I’ve been rewatching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and just finished the episode ‘Hero or Hate Crime’ from season 12. You know, the one where the gang fights over a lottery ticket that flew away in the wind? I’m really curious what everyone thinks about who should’ve gotten to keep that scratch-off.
Mac saved Frank from getting crushed by the piano, but Frank was the one who bought it. Then there’s all that stuff with Charlie and Dee getting involved too. It’s such a crazy situation! What’s your take on it? Who do you think deserved to win the ticket in the end? I keep going back and forth on it myself.
From a legal standpoint, Frank technically owned the scratch-off as the purchaser. However, the show raises intriguing ethical questions about ownership and deservingness. Mac’s lifesaving act could be seen as morally entitling him to the winnings, especially considering the potential impact on his life. Yet one could argue Frank’s consistent financial support of the group already constitutes significant generosity. ultimately, the episode cleverly highlights how greed and self-interest can complicate seemingly straightforward situations. The gang’s convoluted scheming and rationalizations demonstrate their moral flexibility when money is involved. Perhaps the true message is that none of them truly deserved the windfall, given their selfish motivations.
yo that episode was wild af! tbh i think charlie shoulda got the ticket. dude’s always gettin the short end n frank owes him big time for all the Charlie Work. plus charlie’d probably blow it on somethin hilarious lmao. what u think bout charlie’s chances?
Oh man, that episode is a classic!
I gotta say, as much as Frank bought the ticket, I’m leaning towards Mac deserving it. Like, dude literally saved Frank’s life! That’s gotta count for something, right?
Plus, let’s be real, Frank probably blows through scratch-offs like nothing. For Mac, that money could’ve been life-changing. And hey, he came out during all that drama, which was huge for him.
But then again, it’s Always Sunny we’re talking about. Nobody really deserves anything good in that show, lol. They’re all terrible people in their own special ways.
What do you think? Did you have a favorite moment from all their crazy arguments over the ticket?
