Monopoly GO: Does Its Gambling Imitation Merit an 18+ Restriction?

Monopoly GO mimics gambling with random rewards, in-game purchases, near-win tactics, and social pressure. Should such mechanics mean the game is for adults only?

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about this too. I get that Monopoly GO’s mechanics, with the random rewards and that tantalizing near-win vibe, do walk a fine line between fun and something that mimics gambling. For me, while it’s engaging and pretty harmless for most, there’s definitely a point where it’s smart to have a bit of caution—especially for younger gamers. I personally believe that if a game leans too hard into these mechanics, it might benefit from some kind of age guidance so players and parents know what they’re getting into. But then again, it really depends on how it’s balanced overall in the game experience. Just my two cents on it!
