How long was your most extended poker session?

Hey fellow poker players! I’m curious about your endurance at the tables. What’s the longest you’ve ever sat playing poker in one go? I once played for 8 hours straight and thought that was a lot, but I’ve heard stories of people playing for days! Did you take breaks? How did you stay focused? And most importantly, how did it affect your gameplay? Share your experiences and any tips for surviving those marathon sessions!

dude, i once played for like 18 hours straight at this sketchy underground game. totally lost track of time lol. took a few smoke breaks but mostly just pounded energy drinks. by the end i was so zoned out i could barely see strait. prolly not the smartest move but walked away up somehow. def wouldnt recommend tho, my body hated me for days after

Wow, 14 hours is intense! :open_mouth: I can relate to getting caught up in the excitement, though. My longest session was about 10 hours at a friend’s home game. We started on a Friday night and before we knew it, the sun was coming up! :sunrise:

I definitely wasn’t at my sharpest by the end. We took snack breaks and chatted a lot, which helped keep things fun. But man, my back was killing me from sitting so long!

Looking back, I probably should’ve called it quits earlier. My plays got pretty sloppy towards the end, and I ended up giving back some of my winnings. Now I try to stick to 4-5 hour sessions max. It’s all about knowing your limits, right? Both in poker and in staying awake!

My longest poker session was about 14 hours at a casino in vegas. It wasn’t planned, but the table was hot and i just couldn’t walk away. I took short breaks every few hours to stretch and grab some coffee, but mostly stayed put. Staying focused got harder as time went on - I had to really concentrate on each hand and not let fatigue cloud my judgement. By the end my decision-making definitely suffered, even though I was up overall. Looking back, it probably wasn’t the smartest idea to play that long. These days i try to cap my sessions at 6-8 hours max to avoid burnout and poor choices. Knowing when to call it quits is just as important as knowing when to hold’em or fold’em.
