How to create two-tone poker chips without AMS?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to make some cool poker chips at home. I want them to have two colors but I don’t have access to an AMS (Auxiliary Material System). Does anyone know a good way to do this? Maybe there’s a trick with painting or using different materials? I’d love to hear your ideas and experiences. Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions!

Hey FelixThunder56! That’s a cool project you’ve got going on there. :sunglasses: I’ve actually done something similar before, and I think I might have a solution for you.

Have you thought about using epoxy resin? It’s pretty versatile stuff. What I did was pour a thin layer of colored epoxy into a mold, let it partially set, then poured a different color on top. Worked like a charm!

Another trick you could try is painting half the chip one color, then dipping the other half in a different color paint. It takes a steady hand, but the results can be pretty sweet.

Oh, and don’t forget about stickers or decals! You could make single-color chips and then add a contrasting design on top. It’s not exactly two-tone, but it might give you the look you’re after.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it turns out if you give any of these a shot. Good luck with your poker chip project! :four_leaf_clover:

I’ve experimented with a technique that might work for you. Try using a two-part silicone mold. Cast the first half of the chip in one color, let it set partially, then pour the second color. This method allows for a clean division between colors without needing AMS.

Another approach is layering. Start with a base chip in one color, then apply a thin layer of a different colored material on top. Sand down the top layer carefully to reveal the base color in desired areas.

Both methods require some trial and error, but they can yield professional-looking results. The key is patience and precision. Remember to factor in shrinkage and curing times for best results.

yo felixthunder, have u tried using spray paint? its pretty easy. just mask off half the chip with tape, spray one color, let it dry, then do the other half. cheap n quick way to get two-tone chips without fancy equipment. good luck with ur project dude!
