I was at the local casino and saw something crazy. This older guy, probably in his 70s, sat down at a slot machine. Out of nowhere, this lady in her 40s starts yelling at him. She was so mad that he took ‘her’ machine.
The poor guy looked confused. He tried to explain he didn’t know she wanted that one. But she wouldn’t listen. She kept screaming about how she’d been watching that machine all night.
Security came over. They tried to calm her down. But she just got louder. Everyone was staring. It was super awkward.
Has anyone else seen people freak out like this over slot machines? Is this normal casino behavior? I felt bad for the old man.
ugh, ive seen this kinda thing before. some ppl get way too possessive over machines. its like they think the slots are their personal property or sumthin. lady shoulda chilled out, no reason to yell at an old dude. casinoes need to crack down on that BS behavior fr
unfortunately, these kinds of incidents aren’t too uncommon in casinos. i used to work as a dealer, and we’d see similar situations play out from time to time. some folks get really attached to certain machines, especially if they’ve been playing for a while or think it’s ‘due’ for a big payout. the combination of alcohol, money stress, and gambling excitement can make people act pretty irrationally.
that said, there’s no excuse for screaming at an elderly person like that. the casino staff should’ve stepped in sooner to deescalate things. most places have policies about not ‘reserving’ machines, but some regulars still try to claim ownership. it’s always best to just move on to another machine if someone gets confrontational - no slot is worth that kind of drama.
Oh man, that’s a rough situation. I’ve seen similar drama go down at our local casino before. It’s crazy how some folks get so territorial over those machines!
I gotta say though, screaming at an elderly guy is way out of line. Poor dude was probably just trying to enjoy his night out. Sounds like that lady needs to take a chill pill and remember it’s just a game.
From what I’ve seen, most casinos have a “no saving machines” policy. But you always get those regulars who think they own the place. My advice? If someone starts getting all worked up, just walk away and find another slot. No jackpot is worth dealing with that kind of nonsense.
Props to the security team for stepping in, even if it took 'em a minute. Hope the old fella was okay after all that. Maybe next time he’ll stick to the penny slots - less drama over there usually!
